If you like wheels and to have a good time, this is your weekend! Wheel Jam is a four-day event that consists of three major shows: car show, motorcycle show and semi show. Besides the foundation of the three main shows, there is a wealth of other activities that take place including live music and stock car racing!

From the Iverson Auto Show n' Shine Showcase to the dynamic engine brake competition, to the biker games, audio sound competition and more, Wheel Jam is the perfect destination for motor heads or anyone else looking for a fun summer weekend.

In addition to the car, bike and semi shows and races, there are also concerts and entertainment for drivers, participants, and event goers alike. To learn more about the 2024 concerts, check out our event calendar. The calendar will be udpated as entertainment is confirmed!

Admission

Admission into Wheel Jam is free.
Big Jim Jam Fest is $5.
Admission to Saturday night's entertainment is $7.

Due to safety concerns, no hoverboards, skateboards, or motorized scooters/bikes (does not apply to mobility scooters) are allowed on the fairgrounds during Wheel Jam.

Dogs

Dogs are allowed but must be leashed at all times.

Bicycles

Bicycles are allowed, but cannot be ridden through the main Wheel Jam show area of semi trucks, cars, and motorcycles.

Fire Pits

Fire pits are allowed but must be up off the ground and be enclosed with a covering. Open fires are not allowed.

Use of Golf Carts/ATVs, or Side-by-Sides

DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, ATV’S, SIDE BY SIDES, OFF ROAD VEHICLES, OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLES, RIDING LAWN MOWERS AND UTILITY VEHICLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE SD STATE FAIRGROUNDS FOR WHEEL JAM IN 2024. THE ONLY TWO EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE ARE FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE HANDICAPPED AND POSSESS A CURRENT HANDICAP VEHICLE PARKING PERMIT OR IF THE VEHICLE WILL BE ON DISPLAY IN THE MOTORCYCLE SHOW.

Anyone wishing to bring a golf cart or an exception listed above to Wheel Jam must:

Purchase a $20 permit from the State Fair Office or upon entry onto fairgrounds for Wheel Jam. Permit is to be displayed on the vehicle in a highly visible area.
Provide to gate personnel upon entry onto the fairgrounds for Wheel Jam or email/fax in ahead of time, a Certificate of Liability Insurance in the amount of $500,000 showing any of the following:
- Automobile coverage on the golf cart, or one of the following:
- General Liability; or
- Personal Liability; or
- Farm personal liability
If submitting an insurance certificate other than auto, it also needs to state in the description area: State of South Dakota, C/O SD State Fair, 1060 3rd Street SW, Huron, SD 57350, for use on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds during Wheel Jam 2024. South Dakota state employees, officers, agents and assigned are additional insured.

NOTE: Insurance cards are not acceptable; must have something listed above.

In addition to all the races and competitions that accompany Wheel Jam, event attendees can also enjoy some delicious barbecue or prove their own grill master skills by joining the Original SD BBQ Championships or the Backyard BBQ competition!
